You know you're designed to be a fashion designer if you

(1) spent most of your childhood making clothes for your Barbie dolls instead of playing with friends,

(2) read fashion magazines instead of your school books,

(3) ran a boutique out of your basement at age 10.

In other words, if you want to be  the next  Yves Saint Laurent, it helps to be completely and utterly obsessed with fashion.

Well, this describes Ms. Hattie.   Nashville-born Ms. Hattie's fashion creativity emerged early. By the age of 12, she knew she wanted to design and sew. She has a natural design sense of sophisticated elegance and uncluttered modern design. Ms. Hattie's designs have been embraced locally and nationwide.

Ms. Hattie gets her burning desire for creating beautiful things and an eye for fashion from growing up in the Baptist church and seeing women dressed in their "Sunday's Best" dresses and hats. As a result, she remembers designing and creating outfits from scratch on her first sewing machine

She has been designing and sewing for over 50 years. She first learned to sew during a home economics course in junior high school. She has always enjoyed making her own designs and bringing her design ideas to life.

She has worked in healthcare industry for the last 30 years. Throughout her career in healthcare, she was constantly looking for ways to fulfill her creative appetite. Ultimately, she knew that she would never feel completely satisfied unless she dove in headfirst and committed to fulfilling her creative desires.

As a result, she decided to launch her own website,, to share her design and sewing skills to the world.
